How to doodle like Amy Tan! :)

The Amy Tan papers have some great doodles on them, so I decided that I would try and mimic some of the doodles and use them on my pages.  The tag that come in the kit has a doodle that looks like a bike tire with spokes.

And I created some other ones to match and added them to my page:…

Outdoor Inspiration

Hello everyone!  I was so happy to see these bright and beautiful papers from Amy Tan Sketchbook and Pink Paislee Christy Tomlinson in this months' kit!  There are so many fun bits and pieces, too!

On this first page, I used bright colors that reminded me of the outdoors: green and yellow and blue.  I added a few special touches that I will share in a tutorial in a couple days.…

Funky, Fun and Bright!

That is exactly how I would describe the May Birds of a Feather Kit! This kit has a fun mix of American Crafts Sketchbook and Pink Paislee She Art papers and embellies. Throw in the AWESOME kit extras (especially the Prima flowers) and I was in heaven!

Right away, I was prompted to use pictures of my youngest…

A mini for mother....

When I saw the piece of Prima Almanac paper with the cards on it in this months Birds of a Feather kit, I immediately knew that I was going to use them to make a mini album.  I thought black and white photos would go just beautifully with these papers.  And seeing as how I used this kit to make some Mother’s Day Cards, I decided to make a little gift for my mom, too…a mini album of some of my favorite photos of the kids over the past 9 months.

The beauty Of It

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk about the April Kit!

Isn't it an amazing kit? I certainly think so. However when Amy said that we'd have a kit that was Prima heavy, I was a little bit intimated by it. However, when I opened the kit I realized just how much I didn't need to be. Not only are the BOAF…

Adding a bit of color...

I wanted to bring in some other colors to go along with the beautiful pinks and cream and black in the April kit.  For me the easiest way to to that is paint or mist, but you could also using cardstock, markers, thread, buttons, or any other myriad of emebellishments!  On my black flowers I added some bright blue gem brads from my stash.

You make me happy

Hello ,Marielle here with a few more April kit projects for you today !!! I have to admit to you that I had "scrappers block" for a while with this Prima collection, it's very different from what I usually buy and create with ,but I think it's wonderful to try new things, so I challenged myself to find my inner girlie-girl ( remember, I live in a all boy house and I'm kind of a tomboy !!!) I hope you'll like what I came up with :). The first is a layout of Gabriel and I at Easter 7 years ago…

I Scream You Scream!

This April  kit is very vintage inspired, and unfortunately, I don't have any vintage photos!  But luckily, we just visited  the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory in Brenham, Texas where they have been making ice cream for over 100 years!  I took lots of photos, of course, and to make them look vintage, I just added a sepia color cast to the photos and played with the setting s bit.  The backdrop worked perfectly to give this and old-time-photo type of feel.…

No Foolin' April's Kit is Wonderful!

Happy Sunday and Happy April Fool's Day!

I am so happy to share a couple of my layouts using the beautiful April kit.

Now, when I first received the kit, I automatically thought, "Heritage Layouts." So, I went with that idea for my first layout. I used this picture of my grandparents, taken on their wedding day, then I used lots of inking and Latte Glimmer Mist to distress and alter the…

Happy Tuesday, I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but we are having a "spring heat wave " out here on the east coast of Canada. It will get up to 25 C - (77 F) tomorrow !!!!

I decided to "high jack" the blog today to share an other layout created with the March kit. I used the My Mind's Eye supplies only for this layout of Felix and his little sheep (her name is Tess-Tess and has been around for a long time :) , such a sweet and quirky boy ).…
